Medical Oncology

- Education for patients on their form of cancer and stage development
- Explanation of patients’ treatment options including recommendations and the development of a customized treatment plan that is best suited for them
- Monitoring of all patient care and treatment
The Ocala Oncology/Florida Cancer Affiliates team works with patients to ensure they are receiving the best, individualized treatment plan possible. We closely monitor each patient’s progress and provide personalized education about their cancer and the possible side effects of chemotherapy.
Hematology
Ocala Oncology/Florida Cancer Affiliates provides hematology services which include evaluation and treatment of diseases related to blood and the generation of blood in the bone marrow. Hematologists study and treat blood cell cancers, primarily leukemia, Hodgkin’s disease, multiple myeloma and lymphoma. We also provide care for patients with problems of too many or too few blood cells (such as anemia) and bleeding and clotting disorders.
Radiation Oncology
A Radiation Oncologist is a physician who specializes in treating a wide array of cancers with highly focused x-ray beams. This treatment for patients involves a team approach with coordinated care delivered by your radiation oncologist, radiation therapists, nurses and physicists.
Radiotherapy treatments are usually non-invasive, non-surgical and invisible. The goal of these treatments for patients is to destroy the cancer while simultaneously protecting the body’s surrounding healthy tissues.
